Appreciation post: the clearance rack at my local Asian market

I popped into H Mart in Atlanta last weekend and found bags of rice noodles for 99 cents each near the expiration date. I grabbed 4 bags, cooked them with a can of coconut milk and some frozen veggies I had, and made 3 huge meals for under 3 bucks total. Do your stores do that clearance thing too or is mine just lucky?

Hide it in the back of your freezer @reese_nelson - those noodles last forever.

You gotta check those clearance sections regularly, they rotate stock fast. My local H Mart in Doraville always has the soon to expire kimchi and tofu marked way down. Last month I snagged a big tub of gochujang for two bucks because the date was coming up, freezes fine though. Rice noodles for 99 cents is a steal, I would have grabbed way more than 4 bags honestly. The frozen veggie and coconut milk combo is smart, I usually do the same but add a spoon of peanut butter for extra flavor.
