I dropped $4.50 on a rotisserie chicken and made 9 meals out of it, my roommate called it a crime scene
So I grabbed one of those $4.50 marked down rotisserie chickens from the grocery store on Tuesday night, the ones that are about to get tossed. I pulled every bit of meat off that thing, simmered the bones into a pot of stock, and turned it into chicken fried rice, two quesadillas, a pot of soup, and a chicken salad sandwich over four days. My roommate walked in on day three and said it looked like I was running a whole restaurant out of a 6 square foot kitchen. Total spent was $4.50 for the bird plus maybe $3 in rice, tortillas, and veggies I already had. Did I eat chicken five nights straight? Yes. Was I mad about it? Not even a little. What's your go to move when you find a marked down bird or roast on the clearance rack?
