My neighbor called me out for buying bagged rice and I'm still thinking about it

Yesterday my neighbor saw me unloading a 10 pound bag of white rice from my car and said I was wasting money because the bulk bin at the grocery store is cheaper per pound. I checked my receipt and she was right - the bag was $6.50 but the bulk bin works out to about $4.20 for the same amount. Now I'm wondering what other staples I should stop buying pre-bagged. Has anyone else done the math on this stuff?

Heard a friend saved so much switching to bulk oats she bought herself a fancy kettle.

Skip the bulk bins unless you plan to eat it fast. Mice and stale rice are worse than saving two bucks.
