The bag of dried beans I bought for $1.49 made 7 meals, way more than I expected
I kept seeing people buy canned beans for 99 cents each, but a 1-pound bag of dried pintos for $1.49 gave me enough for burritos, soup, and refried beans across a whole week, plus no extra sodium. Has anyone else found a dried ingredient that stretches way further than the canned version for cheap meals?

I used to be all about canned beans for convenience, but a 2-pound bag of dried black beans for $2.49 totally flipped my thinking. That bag made 9 meals including a big pot of chili and some black bean burgers I froze. Also no extra salt was a nice bonus, my blood pressure thanked me.

oh man, dried beans are a game changer until you forget to soak them and realize dinner is in 45 minutes (which is, uh, a thing I've definitely done more than once). I tried making black bean burgers from scratch too and mine basically turned into sad little patties that crumbled everywhere, like a flop version of what you probably made successfully. but seriously, the salt thing is real - I didn't even notice how much sodium I was downing until I switched and my ankles stopped looking like little sausages. your chili must be solid, I'm jealous of that freezer stash.
