Why does nobody talk about how far a bag of dried beans goes

I went to the local mexican market on Alameda last week and grabbed a 2 pound bag of pinto beans for like $1.89. I cooked em up in my crockpot with some onion and garlic I already had and man, that made like 8 servings easy. I froze half and been eating the rest with rice and eggs for breakfast or throwing em in tortillas for lunch. I swear I spent under 5 bucks total for almost two weeks of lunches. Anyone else sleep on dried beans and just buy canned out of habit?

Whoa wait, hold up. You got 8 meals out of a $1.89 bag of pintos? I need to sit down for a second. I've been paying like $2.50 for a single can of organic black beans at the fancy grocery store and that barely gets me 3 servings. That's wild. Plus the canned beans always have that weird slimy liquid I gotta rinse off anyway. You just blew my mind a little bit.

Right, and canned beans are just paying for the can and the water weight.
