Hot take: my freezer died in July and I ate better for two weeks because of it
The compressor on my 12 year old fridge finally gave out on a Thursday in July, and I lost about $40 of meat and frozen veggies overnight. After the pity party, I started buying fresh stuff daily from the little market on 5th, just what I could carry and cook that day. Turns out I was spending less than $4 a meal because nothing got freezer burned and thrown out. My grocery bill dropped almost $30 a week that month. Anyone else notice they cook smarter when they can't stockpile?
