The time I spent 45 minutes picking parsley leaves one by one
Last Sunday I had to prep 12 pounds of parsley for a catering job and I stood there pulling each leaf off the stem for almost an hour before I realized I could just bunch them up and slice the stems off in one cut. I felt pretty foolish when I saw how fast the next batch went. Has anyone else had a prep job take way longer than it should have because you missed an obvious shortcut?

Wait, are you saying bunching them up and slicing the stems off actually works better? I've always been a pick-each-leaf person myself but honestly you just saved me a ton of time next time I'm stuck with parsley.

And that's how most of life works honestly, you spend way too long doing something the hard way until you accidentally stumble into the obvious solution. It's like how people will hand wash dishes for years before realizing a dishwasher does the same job better and faster. The real trick is learning to stop and question your methods before you're 45 minutes deep into something tedious.
