Drove past a coal plant in West Virginia and it finally clicked
I was heading to a job in Morgantown last month and drove right past the Fort Martin Power Station. Saw that massive pile of coal and the smoke coming out, and I realized all my talk about climate action was just talk while I was still driving a gas truck and using a gas generator on site. Next day I ordered a DeWalt battery system for my jobsite tools and started looking into an electric van for next year. Anyone else have a moment where you saw the source of the problem up close and it pushed you to actually switch something in your own life?

Check if your local utility has rebates for EV chargers before you buy anything.

Oh man, I don't know, I feel like people make too big a deal out of these rebates sometimes. Like yeah sure, it'd be nice to save a couple hundred bucks if you can get it, but is it really that serious? I mean, by the time you look up your utility's website, figure out what they want, fill out the forms, and wait for approval, you could've just bought a solid charger and been done with it. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the hassle isn't always worth the payoff unless your local utility is super easy to deal with.
