Had to choose between a gas mower and a push reel for my small lawn.
My old mower died right before summer, and I had a yard in Seattle that's about 500 square feet. I could buy another gas model for quick cuts or try a manual push reel mower. I picked the reel mower, and the first few weeks were a real workout, but my yard is quiet and smells like fresh grass now. Has anyone else switched to a manual tool and found it easier than they expected?

Totally get this. Switched to a manual weed whacker for my tiny garden edges last year. Thought it would be a huge pain, but it's weirdly satisfying to hear the snip snip and not have to mess with cords or gas. Plus, I never have to hunt for an outlet. It just works when I need it.

Yeah, that's the move. The cordless life is overrated. Sometimes the simple tool is just better.

Feel your pain on that first few weeks. My arms were killing me after switching to a reel mower. Now I actually look forward to the quiet time and that fresh cut smell.
