Just got back from Miami Beach and the erosion is way worse than I thought
I was down there last weekend visiting family and walked the stretch near 45th Street. I swear the beach has lost at least 20 feet of sand since I was there two years ago. They've got these big sandbags stacked up but it looks like a temporary fix at best. The tide was coming right up to the dune line and I saw a few spots where the water was lapping at the walkway. Has anyone else noticed this getting worse at their local beaches? What are cities doing that actually works?

Right there with you on this. My last trip to the beach involved me stepping in a puddle that turned out to be the actual ocean sneaking up on the boardwalk. Guess my sandcastle building days are over unless I bring a snorkel.

Haha oh man, that's rough. A buddy of mine had a similar thing happen down in Galveston. He was walking along the dry sand, not even close to the water, and a random little wave just rolled up and filled his shoes with saltwater and sand. He spent the next hour trying to dry his socks on a towel. The ocean is basically a sneaky pet that doesn't pay rent.
