Just realized my landlord pays less for solar than I pay for my power bill

I found out last week that our building's rooftop solar setup in Austin cuts the complex's shared electric bill by 38%, but my unit still gets charged the old rate, so I asked the property manager to switch me to the solar rate and she said it's not an option, has anyone else gotten their landlord to pass those savings along?
