My compost bin fell apart after 4 months, so I built a cheap wire one

The plastic bin cracked in the July heat and spilled rotting scraps all over my patio in Austin, so I grabbed 20 bucks of hardware cloth and zip ties from the local Ace and made a circle bin that works way better, anyone else had a store bin fail on them?

and honestly the wire circle is SO much better for airflow too, mine gets way hotter inside and breaks down faster than that plastic thing ever did. I ended up doubling the hardware cloth and overlapping the ends about six inches, then used those heavy duty zip ties every few loops, it's been through two summers now and still holds its shape. The only thing I added was a cheap tarp over the top with a bungee cord to keep the rain from drowning it during those afternoon storms in texas, you know how it is.
