My neighbor Ray got me to actually time my showers with a $3 kitchen timer
Ray is 74 and lives two doors down in Boise. He told me his water heater uses about 4,000 watts and heating all that water adds up fast on the power bill. I thought he was just being cheap but then I tried the timer thing for a week and my hot showers dropped from 12 minutes to 5. Anyone else run into an old guy who somehow makes saving energy sound less boring than the actual experts?
