About thermal curtain brands, I read that the material matters more than the label. A lot of those "thermal" ones are just basic polyester with a thin backing. You want to check for a tight weave and a decent lining to actually block drafts.

Actually, I have to push back on that a bit. A known brand is a huge shortcut. They've built a reputation, so they can't just slap "thermal" on junk without getting called out. Take a company like Sun Zero, for example. They have specific tech, like bonded blackout layers, that you just won't find in a no-name curtain claiming to be thermal. The label often tells you exactly what you're getting, which saves a ton of guesswork at the store.
