Solar panel neighbor made me question my whole carbon footprint

Met a guy at the hardware store in Phoenix last month. He was buying a Kill A Watt meter. Said he tested every appliance in his house, found his old fridge was pulling 900 kWh a year. Told me he swapped it for a used one rated at 350 kWh, saved $70 a month. Talked for 20 minutes about how small efficiency wins beat big changes people never stick to. Got me thinking, am I missing the boring fixes while chasing flashy stuff like heat pumps? Anyone else found a single swap that beat all your other green efforts combined?
