A setup guy told me my feeds and speeds were "polite" and it stung for a week
He watched me run a batch of 4140 steel parts and said I was babying the inserts, so I bumped the speed up 15 percent and my tool life actually got better. Cut my cycle time by almost 2 minutes per part. Anybody else get a backhanded comment that turned out to be the best advice all year?
