Finally got my first 500 parts without a reject

I've been running this Mazak lathe for about 3 months now. Last Thursday I hit 500 parts on a stainless job without a single reject. My lead hand just nodded and said "not bad kid" which honestly felt better than a bonus. Still gotta keep my feeds and speeds right but it's nice to see the work paying off. Anyone else remember their first big run without scrapping anything?

Man is that not the best feeling ever when you finally hit that milestone? I remember my first time getting through a batch without a mistake and it was like a weight came off my shoulders. The lead hand just giving a nod and a simple "not bad" is way better than some cheesy pat on the back or a gift card. It shows they actually see the hard work you put in. You gotta be proud of yourself for keeping those feeds and speeds dialed in too, that's the real skill.

Huh, I'm gonna push back on that a little. Honestly, I'd rather get the gift card or a quick bonus than a nod any day. It's nice and all, but a nod doesn't pay for my truck repairs or help with groceries, you know? I'll take the tangible win over the moral victory every time.
