Just realized the sticker on my insert box lists the grade wrong, and the rep admitted it on the phone
Called the tooling rep about a chipped insert on my CNMG 432 and he said the grade printed on the box in my drawer doesn't match the coating inside, so I've been running steel at 500 SFM on a grade meant for cast iron this whole time.
