Lost a whole day's run on a bad batch of generic coolant concentrate

I mixed up a batch last month, and it started breaking down after about 20 hours of machine time. The parts came out with a weird, sticky film that failed inspection. Anyone have a brand they trust that doesn't gum up?

Check your local water hardness before blaming the concentrate. Hard water can mess with even good coolant and cause that gummy buildup. A cheap test strip might save your next batch.

Noticed this happening more often with generics lately. Switched back to the brand name concentrate and haven't had a problem since.
