Passed on a used Haas TM-1 for $12k and bought the cheaper clone instead, dumbest call of my career
Spent 8 months fighting chatter and chasing tolerances on a Jinan clone that couldn't hold .005 on a good day, while the guy who bought that Haas is still running production parts on it, so what's the cutoff for you guys between saving cash upfront and buying the machine that just works?

Cutoff for me is downtime cost, not sticker price.
