Pro tip: Don't buy a cheap tool setter probe unless you're ready for the headache
I got talked into a $400 'budget' probe from a brand I won't name, thinking it would save me time. It was off by almost two thousandths on a simple Z-axis touch, which I didn't catch until after I scrapped a $1,200 titanium part. The time I spent trying to recalibrate and then just giving up and buying a proper one cost me more than the part. Has anyone found a truly reliable budget option, or is this just a 'you get what you pay for' situation?

Ouch, that's a brutal lesson. @jake_torres68 is right, that loss really stings. Honestly, I've never seen a truly reliable budget probe. It's one of those things where the cheap option ends up costing way more. You just proved it with that titanium part.
