PSA: That cheap import collet set I bought for $35 on Amazon ruined 2 days of setups before I figured out it was out of round.

Ended up chasing a .005 runout for 6 hours on a simple shaft job before a buddy with a tenths indicator showed me the collet was wobbling like a bent coat hanger, anyone else gotten burned by the bargain tool gamble?

Check the taper too or just the ID?

The 9mm case taper threw me off at first but now I always check it.

The taper is definitely something that catches a lot of people off guard. You measure the ID and think it's fine, but that slight angle makes it easy to miss if you're not looking close enough. Does the taper ever cause you issues with bullet seating, or do you feel like it's pretty consistent once you know what to expect? I've had a few times where the case didn't chamber right because I didn't check the taper carefully enough before loading. Just wondering if that's a common problem or more of a once-in-a-blue-moon thing for most folks.
