Rant: Last Tuesday I ran 47 aluminum parts without a single tool change and it felt like I was cheating
Had this insane day where everything just clicked, feeds and speeds were perfect, and the coolant actually stayed on the part instead of flooding the floor, has anyone else had one of those magic days where the machine just hums?

86 parts through a job last month and I had that same feeling. It's like the universe decided to line up the chips just right. I've noticed it's the same kind of flow state you get when you're driving and hit every green light or when you're cooking and everything finishes at the exact same time. The machine knows when you're in the zone and it just cooperates. Makes you wonder why it cant be like that every day instead of fighting you for every last part.

47 parts with no tool change? I mean that sounds like some kind of black magic or something. idk how you pulled that off without at least one insert chipping or the finish going to crap. I've had days where everything felt smooth and the machine was humming but I usually get a surprise tool change around part 30 just to keep things interesting. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the machine gods are watching and they get bored if you don't throw them a curveball once in a while.

Started running a batch of stainless flanges a couple months back and got 64 parts before I even thought about swapping tools. @emery199 is right about that flow state thing. I had my feeds and speeds dialed in from a test run the day before and just let it eat. The coolant was hitting the cut zone perfect and the chips were breaking clean like they were supposed to. I almost didn't want to stop when I finally did because I knew the next run would probably fight me.
