The 0.0002" tolerance on that aerospace job messed with my head

I was running a repeat job for a shop in Wichita, and they had a print calling for a bore tolerance of 0.0002 inches. I've done tight work before, but that number, plus the fact the part temp could shift it a full tenth, caught me off guard. Found out the hard way, had to stop and let everything cool down for an hour just to get a stable readout. Anyone else deal with specs that tight and how do you handle thermal drift in a regular shop without a climate controlled room?

Wait, was the part cooling or heating up when you got the false reading?

Wait, a tenth just from heat alone, that's insane to even think about.
