The Monday my spindle ate a 3/4 endmill and I lost a whole shift

Honestly, that Monday two years ago still sticks with me. I had a 12-part production run on a job for a local aerospace shop in Phoenix, and the coolant pump died halfway through the first part. It took me three hours to get maintenance to swap it, and by then my spindle had already cooked the bearing on a roughing pass. Ngl, I spent the next four hours pulling chips out of the coolant tank with my bare hands while the operator next to me just laughed. Has anyone else had a day where everything that could go wrong did?

Hey @cora863, ever find a second socket later that fell in the same spot?

Worst Monday I had was when I dropped a 10mm socket into an engine block.

Pretty sure every mechanic has lost a 10mm socket at least once. That size is cursed I swear. I even started buying them in bulk packs now just to have backups.
