Tried a new coolant mix last week on a Haas VF-2 and it gummed up everything in 3 shifts
Thought I was being clever cutting costs by mixing my own concentrate and water ratio but it turned into this sticky mess that clogged the nozzles and left a film on every part. What do you guys run for aluminum that doesn't leave that weird residue?

Straight water and a cheap biocide is all i run on alum. Anything with sugar or glycerin in it will turn into glue.

@scott.jana probably learned that the hard way like most of us do. Same pattern happens with coolant in old cars - people mix in antifreeze with regular water and end up with sludge in the radiator. Simple stuff usually works best.
