Heard a senior dev say 'the best code is the code you can delete' in a talk yesterday.

It made me realize I should focus more on making my beginner projects simple and clear, not just making them work. Has anyone else had a moment that changed how they write their code?

Huh, that's a solid quote. It makes me wonder, what kind of code are you most tempted to keep around even when it's messy? Like, do you find yourself holding onto a complicated function that "works" but you barely understand, or is it more about keeping extra features that just clutter the main goal?

Oh man, @jake_torres68, I once spent a whole week on a "clever" fix I was too proud to delete lol.

The clever ones are the hardest to kill.
