Hit 1000 lines of Python code last night and had to sit down
I've been learning Python on and off for about 6 months and I finally crossed 1000 lines across my little projects. It's not a big number compared to real developers but it felt like a real milestone for me... like all those YouTube tutorials and error messages finally add up to something. I was coding a little weather scraper that pulls data from a free API in Dallas and just realized I'd passed that mark. Has anyone else hit a random number like that and felt weirdly proud of it?

1000 lines is real progress, no doubt about it. Even small projects add up quick when you're actually building stuff. Keep at it and that number will feel tiny before you know it.

300 lines was my personal record back when I was learning Python, so 500 sounds legit wizard level to me. I get what victorhill is saying though, even if those blank lines sneak in there it still feels good to see progress. Sean's right about counting though, I had a project where I realized half my code was just comments I wrote to remember what I was doing. Still, man, hitting that many lines is a solid feeling no matter how you slice it.

Actually 1000 lines isn't that small of a milestone, I hit 500 lines once and felt like a wizard. But you might wanna double check how you're counting blank or comment lines because those can inflate your numbers without really meaning anything.
