I bought a $200 online course that was just a bunch of copied free tutorials
It promised a full path to a web developer job, but the videos were just rehashed from YouTube. I feel like I threw that money away. Has anyone found a good, honest place to start learning Python instead?

Full path to a web developer job" is always a red flag. It's annoying to lose $200, but honestly, most of the good beginner Python stuff is free. You just got tricked by marketing. Check out the official Python tutorial or Automate the Boring Stuff, which is free to read online.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. @hollyl45 is totally right about the free stuff being solid. I fell for a similar ad for a "data science bootcamp" once. Felt so burned. After that, I just stuck with freeCodeCamp's projects and the Django docs to actually build things. It's way less stressful when you're not out any cash, you know? What was the first real project you built with Python?
