My friend's kid said coding was just 'telling the computer what to do' and it clicked for me.
I was overthinking loops and functions for weeks, but that simple phrase from a 7-year-old made me realize I was making it harder than it is. Anyone else have a moment where a basic idea finally made sense?

Yeah, it's all just instructions.

What kind of instructions are we talking about? Like a recipe, or something more like the basic rules that make up reality?

Look at it this way, mark_mitchell. A recipe is a set of instructions you can choose to follow or change. The basic rules of reality are the instructions that everything MUST follow, like gravity or math. That's a huge difference. Saying "it's all just instructions" really flattens out the meaning and misses that key point. Some rules you can break, and some you literally cannot.
