Rant: a missing colon in my first Python script cost me 4 hours on a Tuesday
Two sides here: my buddy says new coders should use an IDE that yells at you right away, but I think fighting the error yourself teaches you more. I was trying to print a grocery list and Python kept throwing a syntax error because I wrote "if x = 5" instead of "if x == 5", and I stared at it until 1am. Which side are you on, let the editor catch it or make beginners find it the hard way?
