Started Codecademy 3 weeks ago in my kitchen, and if statements finally clicked while making a sandwich
Three weeks ago I opened Codecademy at my kitchen table in Columbus and could not figure out why my code would not run. Turns out I wrote an if statement without a colon at the end, and the error message kept saying unexpected EOF. I stared at it for 40 minutes until my roommate asked what I was doing and pointed at the missing colon. Felt so dumb but also weirdly good. Now I write tiny programs to pick what to make for lunch, and yesterday my sandwich logic actually worked on the first try. Has anyone else had a silly missing character trip them up for way longer than it should have?
