Why does nobody talk about indentation wars in Python?

I keep seeing people argue tabs vs spaces like it's a style choice, but one of them literally breaks your code in Python 3 if you mix them, so which side are you on and have you ever been burned by this in a group project?

Mix them in one file and yeah you'll break things but that's a rookie mistake, not a war worth having. Linters fix this before it hits your codebase, so who really cares which button you smash on your keyboard.
