Found out my burr grinder produces 30% more fines than I thought, and it's ruining my pour overs
I got a Kruve sifter last month and ran my usual grind through it, and the results shocked me. About 30% of what my grinder spits out is fines, those tiny dust particles that clog the bed and stall the flow. I tested it three times with the same beans from a roaster in Portland, and every single time the fines were way higher than I expected. Now I'm wondering if I've been fighting my grinder this whole time instead of dialing in my technique. Has anyone else measured their grind distribution and been this surprised, or am I just bad at this?
