I finally gave up on cold brew after a 12 hour disaster
Last Saturday I set up a big batch of cold brew in my French press, like I always do. But I got distracted by a phone call and left it steeping on the counter for almost 14 hours instead of 12. By the time I strained it, the coffee tasted like bitter dirt and gave me the worst stomach ache all afternoon. Has anyone else had a batch go completely south from just a little too much time?
Wait, you let it steep for 14 hours instead of 12 and it ruined the whole batch? That extra two hours shouldn't have made that big of a difference unless your grind was way too fine or your ratio was off. I've accidentally left mine for 16 hours before and it was still drinkable, just a bit strong. What grind size did you use?
