Rant: The coffee shop in my building charges $4.50 for a plain black coffee.

I noticed they brew a different single-origin bean each morning but never list what it is. How do you even ask for what you want without sounding like a jerk?

Ever try just asking, "Hey, what's the single-origin today?" I do that at my spot. It's a normal question and they usually seem happy someone noticed. If they know, they'll tell you, and if not, no big deal.

Saw my friend do that once and the barista lit up, started telling him all about this small farm in Guatemala.
