Took me 8 months to pull a decent shot on my $35 garage sale find
Found a Gaggia Classic at a garage sale in Albany for $35 back in March. I figured the gasket was shot and I would be pulling shots in a weekend. Turns out the pump was dying, the OPV was set way too high, and my Baratza Encore just could not grind fine enough no matter how I adjusted it. After 8 months of swearing, a new pump, and finally buying a hand grinder, I pulled a shot last Tuesday that actually tasted like the blueberry notes on the bag. Anyone else go way deeper down the rabbit hole than they planned on a cheap machine?
