When my French press exploded at 6 AM in the Denver office break room
I was making my usual 32 ounce batch before the morning standup, and the glass carafe just shattered when I poured in the hot water. Water and grounds went everywhere, including all over the new carpet that facilities had just installed. I spent 20 minutes cleaning it up with paper towels, and now I only use a stainless steel travel press with a mesh filter. Has anyone else had a glass brewer fail on them out of nowhere?
Ugh, that's brutal. I've had a glass carafe crack on me before, but never full on explode, so I feel for you and that carpet. It's scary how randomly it can happen with the hot water and all, so switching to stainless sounds like the smart move.
