My buddy the barista told me I order coffee like a robot

I was at Stumptown in Portland last Thursday and my friend Jake who works there straight up said I always get the same boring oat latte. He asked why I never try their single origin stuff or seasonal drinks. Hit different cause he was right, I've been on autopilot for like 2 years. Now I'm letting him pick my drink every visit, has anyone else let staff choose for them and been surprised?

lol yeah I did this at a local spot in Seattle. Told the barista to just surprise me for like a month straight. Ended up finding this Ethiopian yirgacheffe that tasted straight up like blueberries and lemon. Never woulda ordered it myself. Now I mix it up more but still let them pick sometimes when I'm feeling stuck.

But just a heads up, that blueberry thing is actually more typical of a natural process yirgacheffe, not all of them. Washed ones are usually more tea-like and citrusy. Have you tried the natural process ones from other regions yet?
