That $8 pour-over I bought last week at that little shop on Belmont was the best coffee I've had in months, then I burned myself on the carafe.
It was this tiny place with mismatched chairs and the barista actually weighed my beans in front of me, but I grabbed the metal handle without thinking and now my palm is blistered... has anyone else gotten too excited about a fancy brewing method and paid for it literally?

Burned my tongue on a french press plunger last week... couldn't taste anything for two days.

Seriously feel your pain man. I once grabbed the BOTTOM of a hot cast iron skillet without a mitt and couldn't feel my fingertips for three days. Made typing at work a NIGHTMARE and I kept dropping my coffee mug. But hey at least you couldn't taste the burnt toast you probably made trying to have breakfast after that. I swear my dumb moments always have a silver lining somewhere in the chaos.
