Unpopular opinion: a barista in Portland told me my laptop corner setup was rude, and she was right
Last month I was working at a shop on SE Division and had my charger cable stretched across the walkway to the only outlet on the wall. A barista came over and just said "people trip on that every day, can you move it?" I felt like a jerk, so I bought a 6 foot extension cord for $9 and now I ask for the corner table by the window instead. It's small, but I get fewer dirty looks and my coffee stays warmer. Now I'm wondering if the outlet hog thing is actually an unwritten rule everywhere, where do you all sit when the good spots are taken?
