Dropped $60 on a rare variant cover and it arrived bent because the seller used a paper envelope

I collected this limited Jim Lee Batman variant for months and finally got one off eBay for $60, but they wrapped it in a regular paper envelope with no cardboard backing. The corner is crushed and the spine has a crease you can see from across the room. Do I file a claim and risk a nasty review or just eat the loss and warn others?

My buddy Kyle bought a David Finch Batman #608 variant for like $75 last year and the seller shipped it in one of those thin plastic mailers with no protection. The whole top edge was crushed and there was a coffee stain on the back somehow. He filed a claim with eBay and the seller left him a nasty feedback calling him a scammer lol. Worst part is he still doesn't have a clean copy and the prices have gone up since then. I'd say file the claim but be ready for them to be a jerk about it.

Man that's rough, I feel for you. @johnson.paul's story about the coffee stain is exactly the kind of nightmare that makes you lose sleep over these things. In my experience, file the claim but take screenshots of everything first just to cover your bases with eBay.
