Found a comic shop that actually helps new readers

Last Saturday I walked into Cape Comics on 3rd Street and the guy behind the counter didn't roll his eyes when I said I never read Watchmen. Instead he handed me a stack of six cheap trades that are actually perfect for beginners. Total cost was like $28 for everything. Has anyone else found a shop that treats new fans decently instead of acting like you should already know everything?

Wait what were the six trades he gave you? I'm kinda curious since $28 for six books is a steal even if they're used. Like did he actually pick stuff that works for someone new or was it just whatever was in the bargain bin?

I heard Neil Gaiman's Sandman is a great entry point but I haven't cracked it open yet.
