Had a near-disaster with my CGC slab collection during a move last spring
I was moving apartments in Dallas and had all my graded books, about 50 of them, packed in a single cardboard box. The movers set it down near a heating vent in the new place, and I didn't check on it for two days. When I opened it, the heat had made the plastic slabs warp and press against each other. I freaked out thinking the cases were ruined and the grades compromised. I carefully took each one out, laid them flat on a cool table, and let them sit for a full 24 hours. Thankfully, they went back to their normal shape and no damage was done, but my heart stopped. It was a dumb mistake I won't make again. Has anyone else had a close call with their graded books during a move or from temp changes?

Honestly, I'd be more worried about the movers.

Man, that story just gave me secondhand panic. I can picture opening that box and seeing all those warped slabs. Heat is no joke for that kind of plastic. Had a similar scare when my storage unit got way hotter than I thought it would. A few raw books got wavy covers, and I was sick about it. Really makes you think about climate control for this stuff. Glad everything went back to normal for you.

Didn't check on it for two days" is wild to me. I would have been opening that box the second the movers left.
