I finally figured out why my comic book collection kept warping

Spent three years storing my longboxes in the basement before I realized the humidity was wrecking the spines. Bought a dehumidifier and a cheap hygrometer from Target, but it took me 6 months of trial and error to get the level right. Anyone else have a storage problem that took way too long to solve?
