I mocked the variant cover crowd until I saw the 2025 foil run in person
Three years ago I thought paying $50 for a variant cover was for people who enjoy burning money. Then last month at a small show in Columbus, a dealer let me hold the Peach Momoko foil from issue #12. The light hit that thing completely different, and I suddenly understood why some folks chase these like gold dust. It was the same story inside, but the presentation honestly felt like owning a mini art print with extra steps. Now I pick up maybe two or three special covers a year, just the ones that really speak to me. Anyone else flip their stance on a comic collecting habit after seeing it firsthand?
