I used to hate the new Spider-Man run, but a friend in Chicago made me read issue #7

Last month, I was visiting a buddy in Chicago and he shoved the whole first arc at me. I read it in one sitting at his apartment and the way they handled Peter's guilt over what happened to Ben Reilly actually made sense. It clicked for me in a way the first few issues didn't. Has anyone else had a run they disliked turn around like that?

The art in that arc really sold the mood for me.

Used to think the writing carried that whole section. Then I saw how the shadows and rain were drawn in those city scenes. It made the loneliness hit way harder.
