PSA: I was storing my comics in a hot attic for 5 years before a friend pointed out the damage

I kept all my old boxes in my attic in Phoenix, thinking it was just dry storage. My buddy was helping me move and pulled out a 1980s X-Men issue, saying 'dude, these pages are getting brittle.' The heat up there was slowly cooking them, making the paper weak and yellow. Has anyone else had to rescue a collection from a bad storage spot?

Heat's not the real problem, it's the wild humidity swings.

Yeah, @the_mila nailed it. That's why everything feels so off lately, like the weather can't make up its mind.

My walk to the bus stop this morning felt like moving through soup. The air was so thick I could almost drink it, then by noon it felt bone dry. It really does mess with your head and your energy levels all day. Mila's point about the humidity swings explains why my skin and sinuses are in chaos. It's more than just being hot, it's the constant shift that wears you down. Does your place get that damp, heavy feeling too?
