Took a chance on a dollar bin Daredevil run from 1981 and it totally changed how I look at the whole character.

I always thought the Miller stuff was overrated but after reading issue 168 with that gritty street-level storytelling and Elektra's introduction I had to admit I was wrong, has anyone else been surprised by a random cheap find?

Honestly, Jaime Reyes' first run is just pure heart. The whole thing about him being a teenager from El Paso trying to balance normal life with this ancient alien scarab? That's real. The way he talks to his parents, the struggle of keeping a secret identity while still going to school, it's not some grimdark world-ending event every arc. Ngl, the issue where he has to explain to his mom why he's coming home late and covered in bruises hit different. That grounded, family-first vibe is why people stick with the character.
