Warning: Comic convention lines have a nicer feel now
Was at the big comics event downtown last Saturday. Saw a lot more casual fans and groups just hanging out. People were actually talking and not just staring at phones. It's a small thing, but it feels like the culture is warming up.

When nathan492 says 'all phones, no chatting,' I get that because my last con had lines full of people just scrolling. It sucks when the vibe is dead like that. I saw a group playing a card game in line at Awesome Con, which was cool. But at other events, everyone is glued to their screens with no talk. Maybe it's about the crowd or the time of day. Hope more cons get that friendly feel back.

The quiet in my doctor's waiting room last week felt way more awkward than any con line. In my experience, that shift toward talking feels like a small win against the usual bubble we all live in now.
